For three days I have been trying to compile, and I couldn't compile a SINGLE program.

There are always missing packages, and I don't know what more to do.

Im starting to get fed up.

Imagination uses standard GtkIconView with custom cell renderer.

You can find good tutorial on how to write custom cell renderer here. If you need some code to look at, Imagination's custom cell renderers are available here (imgcellrenderer[anim|pixbuf].[ch]).

I will certainly check out the application. But what made me post this comment is your second screenshot.

I would very much like to know how you achieved adding the emblems in the corners of the thumbnails. Is this a standard GtkIconView or have you derived? Or just a derived cell renderer?

I saw you offer articles on Gtk+, so maybe you wouldn't mind some small how-to on how to extend a GtkIconView/GtkListVew like that? I asked a question about this on the Gtk mailing lists, but unfortunately did not get any answers.
